Feature Request - Custom Brushes

Am I alone in thinking Fireworks is lacking a custom brush feature?

It's one of the only reasons I feel like I need to go into Photoshop these days.

Any word on features in CS5? This would be a definite upgrade for me if so.

I think it's an excellent idea and have been hoping that this would be incorporated into any new version of Fireworks.

Feature Request - Custom Brushes

When I first moved from Photoshop to Fireworks for WEB work, I missed them too. But I don't miss them anymore :-) I use some funky strokes now and then. But, if we were to get them that would be very cool, especially if they remained editable. Not sure if that is even possible. One thing I love most about Fireworks is being able to edit almost everything.

I'm with Joyce on this one I almost never use brushes in PS (part of

me feels like it's cheating lol) If they were to be incorporated into

FW, they would have to be editable, too. From what I know of PS

brushes, once applied, they're embedded into the bitmap or layer they

were painted on.

With the exception of specific shapes, you can get some very

interesting effects by experimenting and customizing the stroke

effects which come with FW.
